โน๏ธ Dye has led Appleโs UI design team since 2015, after Jony Ive moved into the role of Chief Design Officer. He joined Apple back in 2006 as a creative director in marketing, later moving to Iveโs interface team in 2012 to work on iOS 7. Over the years, he contributed to the design of iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, visionOS, and played a key role in shaping the โ Vision Pro interface and the updated Liquid Glass design.
๐ค Apple plans to replace him with Stephen Lemay โ a designer who has been with the company for more than 25 years. According to Tim Cook, Lemay has been instrumental in every major Apple interface since 1999 and sets an exceptionally high design standard.
๐ฑ On December 31, Dye will join Meta as Director of Design, where he will lead a new division overseeing both hardware and software design for products like headsets and smart glasses.
