Live facial recognition MUST be stopped. For all of us who stood against vaccine mandates, we know of the isolation and targeting our view point caused. Now amplify that. Your photos that you upload to image based platforms, your passport photo, your drivers licence photo-- could all be fed to facial recognition databases. Combined with your posts on social media, could make you a target for this mass surveillance rollout. It doesn't matter if you are Left leaning or Right leaning, any critique of the government could send you straight to jail in the future if this continues. 🙄 Wes Streeting and Labour continue with this utopian idea of transforming the NHS into a digitised Singapore styled health system. 🤖 The NHS can never leave analogue behind completely if it wants to ensure the privacy and security of patient data as well as having a legitimate fallback during a cyber incident. 🤷‍♂️ What good is billions in tech when frontline staff can't use EPR [electronic patient records] correctly? 🆔 And then Streeting wants to join up everything into a centralised record which is ultimately self-defeating, putting patient data at even more risk should a major cyber incident occur. Digital ID is looming on the horizon. They tried with vaccine passports, now they are trying with the new GOV.UK One ID. One massive concern is Palantir who are already within some NHS Trusts gathering data. Touted as efficient data gatherers in tech systems, Palantir WILL make digital ID a reality.
